酱烧老板鱼 (Saucy Stingray)
Dinner @ '锦上鱼府' (Peninsula Seafood) in Qingdao.
My travelling mate had never tasted stingray and so I ordered one, partly also I am craving for a little taste of home.
Here, the entire stingray was lightly cooked in a soysauce base gravy, with probably garlic and onion. The sauce was tasty and accentuated the fresh marine-ness of the stingray. I always love stingray as their 'bones' (cartilage to be exact) are soft and the meat divinely tender and soft. When stingray is cook wrongly, they become tough and sinewy and will have an awful amine aroma. Thankfully, there were none of these mistakes here.
