煎饺 (Pan-Fried Dumplings)
Lunch @ The Queli Hotel (曲阜阙里宾舍酒店) in Qufu, to try some of the dishes from the famous "Kong Family dishes" (孔家菜).
Dumplings are exceeding popular as a staple in Shandong. Have encountered them several times. And the serving sizes are always large.
Here, I had gone for the Pan-fried version. Stuffed with minced pork, tofu and minced vegetable, the filling was surprisingly light in taste, with the taste dominated by the beany notes of the tofu. The lack of a meaty taste made these quite unsatisfactory for myself.
