红糖糍粑 (Fried Glutinous Rice Cakes With Brown Sugar)

Dinner @ '成都印象' in Chengdu.

 

Dessert? Our dessert order came right in the middle of the never ending flow of savoury dishes. Oh well, the table decided to use it as a welcome break from the 'onslaught'.

 

The fried glutinous rice cakes were crispy on the outside and all sicky-gooey on the inside. The brown sugar dip was as thick as molasses and tasted heavenly caramelic and sweet. We could not get enough of this dip to coat the cakes!
