老厨白菜 (Wok Fried Chinese Cabbage)

Dinner @ '老山东', a restaurant recommended by my previous assistant for a taste of his home province in Shanghai.

 

Another very delightful dish. Chinese cabbage lovingly wok-fried with mung beans noodles. Arrived all saucy goodness with an rich aroma of the wok. The mung bean noodles were obviously first precooked in a soysauce based gravy and the savouriness of it worked well with the sulphurous Chinese cabbage. I love the little bits of garlic floating in an out bridging the 2 main ingredients with its alliaceousness.
