Teochew Style Wild Fungus Hot pot (潮州野生菇火锅)

Dinner @ '云南大理潮州菜' at No.44 Renmin Lu, Old Dali City.

 

The simplicity and delicate taste here is a Teochew dish. It has no relations to Yunnan culinary style. I wanted something soft and light to rest my fragile digestive systems and a hotpot made a smart decision.

 

The broth was very light - lightly umami and flavoured only with wild fungus and Amomums (also know as Chinese or Brown Cardamons - as featured). My mate and myself ordered some meat and vegetables to go into the hot pot.

 

The diet seemed to work. Plus a good night rest, I recovered quite some bits the next day.
