Lijiang Tibetan Yoghurt (丽江藏家酸牛奶)
This is one of 2 brands that dominated the shelves in the shop in Lijiang, Yunnan.
Supposedly made from the milk of the yak.
It is very creamy and rich in mouthfeel. It certainly is no 'low fat' or 'no fat' yoghurt. Has a slight animalic note to it, which reveals perhaps its more exotic origin.
My only compliant? The obsession with aspartame in China. Is there a need for such rubbish in yoghurt? There is something wrong when people forsake natural things like sugar and substitute it with non natural chemicals. Unfortunately, China is so quick to embrace these 'fancy smancy new age' chemicals. They may not kill you but when a natural version like sugar is perfectly safe....why go for something that even nature is loathed to create?
And parents are feeding these rubbish to the next generation.
(In general, not just Aspartame (阿斯巴甜), but also Acesulfame K (安赛蜜), Sucralose (三氯蔗糖) and Sodium Cyclamate (甜蜜素). I have been advising colleagues not to feed food items containing these stuff to their kids)
