Mixed Vegetable Soup (浓汤三宝)

My mate was intrigued by the addition of the purple corn and hence, we made a last minute addition to the dishes that we were ordering for dinner. Unfortunately, the soup turned out rather bland. Usually when carrot, celtuce and corn are used to brew a soup, they infuse a very rich sweetness that is most enticing. In this case, the chef had tried to add evaporated milk to the soup to improve the mouthfeel but it was not enough. The vegetable were still plenty crunchy which means that the soup had not been given a proper brew. A great pity really.
