Steamed Crab 'Xiaolong' Buns (蟹粉小笼包)

Breakfast @ '王家沙', a local famous Shanghai restaurant and eatery.

 

These were heavenly, although the version on this morning was a tad 'under the weather'. There was not enough juices flowing out of the steamed buns, and the buns turned out a tad dry. The chef was a tad stingy with the filling too. My mate was a little disappointed. I had brought friends on other occasions and the buns were so moist and tender that they couldn't resist having more.

 

Maybe the chef was having a bad morning (it was a cold wintery day). But despite that, the buns were still wonderful.....just not spectacular.
