Sugar Apple (釋迦/释迦) {Annona squamosa}
Another popular fruit in Taiwan. It is called "Shijia" in Taiwan because the bumpy shape of the fruit resembles the top part of Sakyamuni Buddha's head.
The whitish flesh is sweet smelling and tasting and tastes like custard, or in own opinion, pudding. The texture of the flesh can be a tad soft and runny but it can also be a tad grainy. There are inedible long and black seeds to spit out.
I used to enjoy the fruit more as a kid - digging out the soft tender flesh, swirling the morsels of flesh inside the mouth to remove the flesh and spitting the seeds into cups and bowls (or to someone you really dislike).
