Fulong Train Platform Bento (福隆月台便當/福隆月台便当)

We came across another 'Fulong' Bento in Suao but it turned out, it was a terrible imitation.

On the journey back, I made sure I grabbed the real McCoy for NT$60.

Despite the rudimentary packaging, the rice and assorted ingredients were kept moist and tender. For the price I paid, I was surprised at the number of dishes that came along with the rice - pieces of pork and pork belly, braised beancurd, fish roll and Taiwanese style sausage. Digging underneath the meats, yielded stir-fry cabbage, preserved vegetable, preserved radishes and a braised egg.

Now I understand why folks love it.

It was a lip-smacking satisfying trip back into Taipei.
