Chilli Sauce (蕃薑醬/蕃姜酱)

Breakfast in Zhanghua [彰化].

 

Caught my eye as the bottle was on the tables at the Braised Pork Rice stall. Thought it was Ketchup but they were not. It turned out to be Chilli Sauce and seemingly something that is uniquely local.

 

It was sweet, tangy and just mildly spicy.
