Rice Porridge Breakfast
Brekkie offered by the Hotel which I am staying in in Alishan.
I had woken up at 5am, to go watch the sun rise above the mountain ranges. As beautiful as these sunrises are, I am just not the type to wake up in the wee hours of morning to catch the first ray of sun. But helping a trio of Brits who are working in Hong Kong, meandered through the language barrier helped to wire up the good old cerebral hard drive and by the time we were done with the sun, I'm famished.....and craving for coffee.
By now, to go with the sweet potato rice porridge, it's the familiar combo of braised gluten, roasted peanuts, preserved bamboo shoots and there is now the addition of marinated strands of sea kelp
A light, and I would say, vegetarian start to the day. Good Karma beckons.....I hope.
