Native Chicken Deep-Fried in Oiltea Camellia Oil (苦茶油土雞/苦茶油土鸡)

Dinner in Alishan Zhongzheng Village (阿里山中正村).

Oiltea Camellia oil is another specialty of the area, as Alishan's climate is most suitable for the growing of tea leaves.

Both of us have had native chickens earlier but we were curious to know if the Oiltea Camellia oil, another healthy type of oil, claimed to be on par with Extra Virgin Olive Oil in terms of health benefits, would impart any intriguing taste.

Unfortunately, it did not. Grin. And we ended up with a plate of deep fried chicken, like any other deep fried chicken. No complaints though aside from the fact that the meat is a tad tough. At least we took 'comfort' that it was deep fried in good oil.

Yeah, we were lying to ourselves that last bit.

Chuckle.
