Angelica (當歸/当归) {Angelica sinensis}
Angelica is grown around the Cingjing area. There were so many shops selling the real roots, peddling them even. My mum would have carted away a few bundles considering how cheap they are!
Chinese medicine only uses the roots, which are sliced up and dried.
It is frequently used in brews meant as female tonics, and have earned the nickname 'Ginseng for females' although it can be used, in combinations with other herbs, to treat other ailments, not exclusive to just ladies.
