We are on top of the mountain range that dominates this part of Taiwan and we went gobsmacked to find the owner's wife speaking impeccable American English! Of all places. Astounding!
The eatery is really in the middle of nowhere but they serve simple hearty meals for travellers on the road. The rice is steaming hot and fluffy. Granted that Blackpepper Beef is not really genuine Taiwanese cuisine but I guess it is easy to prepare!
Simple lunch never tasted so good while on the road.
