Braised Pork Leg With Rice (红烧猪腿饭)

Lunch at a mid way stop between Hualian and Cingjing, after passing through the breathtaking Taroko Gorge.

 

This was my travel mate's order. He was lamenting that the braised pork legs, as tender as they were, contained only skin and fat and no meat. He was grumpy that all the fat would just go to places undesirable. (Much eyes rolling on my part!)
