Braised Combo (滷味套餐/卤味套餐)

To be fair, this was my mate's lunch at the Taoyuan International Airport. (But I did steal a few bites so I dare say I tasted it)

Taiwanese cooking is Southern Chinese cooking and the use of long stewing and braising in combo with soysauce and spices is very common.

My mate opted for a braised combo special. It was a LONG wait....we were kidding that the chef had only started braising his dish when my mate ordered it.

When it did arrived, it was fairly tasty. There were ample pieces of braised tofu and we were surprised to find Thai Basil (not the western Sweet Basil) hidden among the pieces, adding another layer of flavour.
