No, NOT an Expresso. Not even a cappuccino. Laos actually grow a fair bit of coffee in the northern parts of the country, mostly of the more inferior Robusta vein, though there are some rather good and robust Arabica veins too.
Brewed dark and fairly strong, Asian-style, and usually served with sugar and milk.
I've been warned that the brew is strong but after tasting it (I was knocking these back like some folks would, with Tequila)...and honestly survived to say...so sorry but no can do. The Viets, Greeks and Turks do it stronger.
