Beijing Jiao Zi [饺子/北京饺子]

"Jiao Zi" or Boiled Dumplings (in this case, the filling was pork and Chinese cabbage [猪肉白菜]) is a widely popular and traditional Chinese Food, essential during holidays in Northern China and comes in a variety of fillings.

 

It is a quintessential Chinese New Year dish. The cook usually will place a coin in one of the dumpling and the lucky one who manage to bite into that particular dumpling will be blessed.
