This place is an institution! The shop is a lot more modern compared to the other competitors around it and it actually can have a queue!
The placed is famed for its fried pork cutlet with rice but the menu had a lot more varieties for the diner!
I had popped for my first dinner in Penghu, not expecting more than proteins served with rice so I added another famous protein from the shop: squid steak.
Lo and behold, the plate arrived with a fried egg and 2 vegetable sides with no additional costs! Talk about being scrumptious!
I had featured the fried pork cutlet separately.
The deep-fried squid steak wasn't that typical surimi-based "cheapo" patty breaded with panko - it actually contained a lot of squid pieces! I truly enjoyed it, never had I had squid steak so authentic and tasty!
The rice was alright - at least it wasn't congealed or lumpy but the 2 different kinds of preserved vegetable were sweet and tangy so they really whet up an appetite.
I polished off the entire plate till there was nothing left.
