葱油蛋饼 Spring Onion Pancakes With Egg
Snack from "邮局葱油蛋饼".
A must-try and well known for its snaking long queue: Had to know what the fuss (long queue) is about.
I remembered the version from Hualien years ago:

I had ended my half-day tour and opted to have a simple lunch near by.
10 minutes before the shop opens at 2pm, there was already a short queue forming and I quickly got into line and soon, the queue grew.
In essence, the shop simply deep-fried already pre-prepared pancakes flavoured with spring onions, along with the option of adding a single egg, double eggs or egg+cheese during deep-frying of your personal choice.
Fresh cucumber juliennes and various condiments like soysauce, garlic puree, chilli sauce, ketchup, Chinese brown sauce, pepper, freshly cut chilli with garlic in soysauce etc were free flowing; customers can add to their heart's content.
It was very fragrant and had remained crunchy even after the walk back to my Hotel. The addition of egg added a positive richness dimension and it was the sauce (I opted for brown sauce+chilli sauce+garlic puree+pepper) that carried the deliciousness. It wasn't too greasy as well as I read that the shop uses only fresh frying oil.
It was tasty I admit but I am personally not sure I would be going back to queue just for this again.
