仙人掌豆花 (Soybean Curd With Cactus)
Red & white dessert at a street stall at the wharf of Dongji Islet (东吉屿): Soybean curd with prickly pear cactus syrup & tapioca pearls.
A stop on the Islet for my day tour to the southern group of islands of Penghu.
This is a common dessert combination in the archipelago with the cactus growing wild everywhere.
The sweet, berry-like and sour plum-like, slightly tangy syrup was an unique combination against the creamy beaniness of the soybean curd.
I can't say I like it....nor do I dislike it but it was certainly a refreshingly unique combination!
