Grilled Marinated Calamari & Chorizo

Dinner @ Exhale Exmouth.

 

"Tender marinated Calamari with Spanish Chorizo tossed with orange, thyme, lemon, garlic and smokey paprika then served with blistered cherry tomatoes & a lemon & herb aioli"

 

The description conveyed a cacophony of tastes but reality was more subdued....essentially this tapas of a dish celebrated the salty smokiness of chorizo and the briny calamari. It needed a carb of sorts....maybe toast or muffin or even toasted potatoes.....to soak up all the salt, which I felt needed some taming between mouthfuls.
