Custard Tart

Lunch @ Bryson's Of Keswick.

 

I dislike shortcrust pastry shell for tarts. Unless they are done supremely well….really “short” with butter, the creepy version with vegetable shortening merely made them taste hard and waxy. While I do enjoy custard filing, even the iconic Bird’s custard with its signature vanillin-driven taste, the crust was a turn off for myself. Luckily, I didn’t order this. Mate wanted to try and I didn’t have to live with his mistake. (Chuckle)
