Oatcakes
Item bought at the local TESCO.
An oatcake is a type of flatbread similar to a cracker or biscuit or in some versions takes the form of a pancake. They are prepared with oatmeal as the primary ingredient, and sometimes include plain or wholemeal flour as well. Oatcakes are cooked on a griddle (girdle in Scots) or baked in an oven.
The Scottish form is almost a biscuit. Think cereal bar made of oats without the bells and whistles. As elementary as one can get to the pure stuff.
Tried feeding it to my travelling mate's little girl....she made a face and never once again clamoured to try anything when I said I was having "oatcakes".
