High Tea - Scones (Sultana or Plain), Cornish Clotted Cream
High Tea @ "Sketch".
"served with Organic Strawberry & Poppy Jam"
No. I didn't enjoy these.
They didn't have the "middle lightness" enveloped in a ugly crusty exterior that I am looking for in a good scone.
I was so highly impressed by the version I had at Keogh's Cafe (www.flickr.com/photos/xuessium/52452969172/in/album-72177...) earlier that these were simply not comparable.
These felt more like hardened bread or bready cakes.....they were quite dense and reminded me of the American style "biscuits" one may find in fast food joints! No amount of clotted cream and jam can really salvage them.
Had half and shoved the other half away on the plate.
