Beef Wrapped In Wild Betel Leaf (Thit Bo Nuong La Lot)

Snacking @ "Phu Quoc Night Market".

Betel nut leaf is widely used in Indochinese cuisines. You will find them used in Vietnamese, Laotian and Thai cooking.

They are almost always used for chargrilling with meat as their toughness made it a little less enjoyable without the use of open-fire.

Chargrilled however, they also impart a mild spiciness to the meat and they softened enough for them to become a little crunchy as well.

Always a fan of this dish!
