Deep-Fried Sticky Rice With Pork & Onion

Dinner @ "Saigonese Eatery".

 

These tasted like what I would termed clayout rice down to the crusty rice shards!

 

These were in fact, deep-fried glutinous rice balls with a filling of soysauce minced pork and sauteen onion. Because they were deep-fried, the exterior skin was crunchy and in fact, a tad sticky, while the glutinous rice within was gelantinously soft, creating an enigmatic contrast in texture.

 

They were deliciously fillinf, especially when bathed with spoonfuls of the soysauce based "moat" (grin).
