Fried Cobia Fish
Lunch @ "The Beach Restaurant" (Sao Beach).
"Marinated fried Cobia fish"
I have never had Cobia fish (Rachycentron canadum) and happy that I tried but I doubt I will ever order it again.
It tasted like a "whiter" version of the traditional "black" fish type.....reminded me of mackerel with a tinge of cod.
Pretty fishy stuff and I was truly grateful for the strong flavourings in the claypot - fish sauce, chili, garlic, shallots, pepper, spring onions etc that really helped to compress the undesirability of that fishy taste. In fact, I enjoyed the sauce more (in combo with rice) that I pretty much left the fish untouched after trying out a small slice.
