Rye Bread Dessert With Cowberry Sauce

Lunch @ "Salve", Riga, Latvia.

 

I was truly blown away by this rye bread dessert!

 

I was expecting something stodgy and heavy.

 

The rye bread was utterly soaked through with sauce(?) and it literally melted in the mouth, aided by fresh cream and punctuated by the tangy explosions of the lingonberry sauce and fresh berries.

 

Utterly gobsmacked!
