Cold Udon With Pork, White Bait & Pickled Plum

Dinner @ "Udon Tsuru-Koshi".

 

My mum chided me for bringing her to taste cold udon on a rainy day....haha...my bad indeed. I really had never tried one before hence my curiosity to try.

 

Cold does not mean tasteless. The broth was actually quite flavourful - a tasty light dashi made more flavourful with the tangy taste of the pickled plum. The boiled pork and white bait added savouriness which actually balanced out the dish rather well.

 

But it was served cold. Mum's tolerance for my curiosity has her limits. Don't provoke a hungry mum....Hahaha!
