元笼小笼包 (Steamed Pork Dumplings)

THE item on the menu.
Taipei is of course, home to the world famous "Dingtaifeng" chain but the chain enjoys long queues. I have been there and thus this time, I opted to try this spot recommended on the blog. I must agree with the blogger - these were really just as good as that of the famous chain.
The skin was thin, so thin, any unnecessary or wayward picking up by chopsticks will prick open the embryolic baggage, spilling the delicately umami lava within, committing culinary sin of the first degree!
The well nursed glimmering pork within was meltingly delectable.
