蟹粉角瓜 (Squash Cooked With Crab Puree)

Crab puree is a common Shanghainese ingredient and therefore is no surprise to find it employed in such a restaurant that was serving the hallmark of Shanghainese food in Taipei - the famous steamed dumplings aka "Xiao Long Baos".

 

I thought to pick a dish that combined this common ingredient with a lighter ingredient and hence opted for the squash version.

 

It was a tasty choice as both ingredients were sweet tasting....and the squash prepared and cooked well - firm but still tenderly "squashy", bursting with decadent gravy in the mouth.
