Vietnamese Fried Springrolls (Nem Rán/Chả Giò)

Lunch @ Mai Chau Thai ethnic village.

 

A dish synonymous to Vietnam (along with Pho).....simple, fried, crunchy, tasty and light all at the same time....it appeals to every one. Filled with minced pork, glass noodles and vegetable all rolled with a tube-shaped cylinder inside rice paper.....I was hardly surprised, when at a cooking class the next day, there was an immediate request to have this taught......

 

Similar type dishes can be found across the East Asia - in China as well as in a number of Southeast Asian countries.
