Bahn Cuon (Stuffed Steamed Riceflour Rolls)
Bánh cuốn is a dish from Northern Vietnam and this version is from the 35B Xoi Yen shop, which curiously was not selling its specialty dish of Xoi Yen during the TET New Year holidays but offering this dish instead.
Sides for this dish usually consist of chả lụa (Vietnamese pork sausage), a basket of mixed Vietnamese herbs and cut chillies and the quintessential dipping sauce made using fish sauce called nước chấm, palm sugar and water.
The rolls are dunked into the dipping sauce and consumed.
