Butadon: Bowl With Pork Loin & Belly

Dinner @ "Buta-CK" in Tokyo.

Arrived into Tokyo on a frigid 3C rainy evening - not in the mood to run around in shoes that had gotten wet. Luckily, this restaurant offering a Hokkaido specialty of char-grilled pork on rice was not too far from my hotel.

And it did wonders to lift my spirits!

I opted for the specialty of the house - all charcoal broiled, pork produced on Hokkaido, "energy-giving food" combo of pork loin, pork back ribs, rice and white green onions.

Against the wetness of the elements, I took much comfort and solace from the hearty bowl - all scrumptious, tender and inadvertent moreish!

I was afraid the pork belly slices would turn out oily and irky but mercifully, they were so tender that the fat layer just melted away like butter. The pork loin slices were all so juicy and flavourful and in addition, I could even add more sauce to make it even more salivating.

I was afraid I may struggle with my medium sized bowl order. Fret no, I polish it all off with no a grain of rice left behind.
