King Coconut {Cocos nucifera}

Dinner @ "Upali's By Nawaloka" in Colombo.

 

The King coconut is a variety of coconut, native to Sri Lanka and is shorter than "normal" coconut trees. The "nuts" are also orangy in colour rather than the common green.

 

It was claimed that it is sweeter than regular coconuts, although tasting it twice during my time, I am very in doubt of such a claim.
