鱼香茄子 (Sichuan Stir-Fried Brinjal)

Dinner @ "Grandma's Place" (外婆家), a famous Hangzhou restaurant chain.

 

A famous Sichuan dish, all spicy and tangy with a faint hint of fishy notes (which came from the fermented black bean sauce used) - I like stir-fried brinjal always, and one that is spicy and tangy is always welcomed.

 

However, this version had more of a chilli sauce taste than the traditional fermented black beans sauce, and so in a true sense, not too authentic.
