棉花糕 (Cotton Cakes)

Lunch @ "七寻八找胡同菜", a restaurant hidden in a Hutong (alley), serving old world food to new world customers.

I love both name and taste. It was the only dessert ordered.

I was plenty intrigued as it greatly resembled the "Wa Ko Kueh"(s) back home in Singapore.

Well, it looked almost the same but the texture was firmer and more springy. Also, it was almost devoid of basic taste - bland to the point of being boring and relied heavily on the condensed milk to deliver any taste.
