白皮饼 (White Skin Biscuits)

This is the version from "厚记".

 

The skin is usually made using lard and generally, either sweetened red bean paste or sweetened yam paste is used for the filling. The biscuits or pastries are then oven-baked to deliver a crumbly end product with a moist and soft centre.
