腐乳饼 (Fermented Tofu Biscuit)

This is the version from "厚记".

Mooncake-like dough flavoured with a mixture of minced pork and lard with smears of pinkish fermented tofu added and then oven baked until golden brown.

These biscuits have a distinctive lardy aroma; slightly plump and greasy in taste from the bits of lard but yet enigmatically moreishly sweet, salty and umami from the fermented tofu.

Never seen this back home in Singapore. Tried it, expecting to dislike it but surprisingly found it to be quite tasty in small bites.
