Costières de Nîmes Grenache Carignan (Francois Posquieres)

Lunch @ "Nova", a French restaurant.

Red wine by the glass from a French vineyard. (Duh)

I don't drink; this was my mate's order.

Had a cotton candy sweetness mixed strongly with a sharp red berry front tapering off to a mild earthy finish for a bouquet.

Off the Internet and learning something new: Carignan & Grenache are 2 of 3 popular dark-skinned grape varieties used extensively in southern France. Carignan contributes tannins, acidity and vibrant color to the mix, while Grenache delivers its trademark bright berry-fruit flavors and high potential alcohol.
