Ginger Creme Brulee
Lunch @ The Fissler Academy Cafe (FA Cafe) fronted by Enzo Coccia, the Italian Pizza maestro.
Beautiful fiery colours. A feast for the eyes.
I find it plenty peculiar to find French desserts in Italian restaurants in Shanghai. Truly odd. I cannot imagine someone serving Southeast Asian 'Sago in Gula Melaka' in a Chinese restaurant.
Good caramelised sugar crust - I love to hear the snap, cracker and pop as my mate broke into the Creme Brulee. The custard is a tad firm, almost more Crema Catalana than Creme Brulee.
The ginger was surprisingly tame and obedient, offering it's presence only as a warm citrusy aftertaste.
