Pork Rillete, Smoked Foie Gras, Grapes & Almonds

Lunch @ "The Social Commune", a modern Spanish Tapas joint, under the Jason Atherton Group of restaurants.

 

Cold pork - interesting! The dish had a mousse-like quality to it, all meaty and pate-like at the same time but the intrinsic surprises lay in the grapes and almond bits, which exploded wondrously in fruitiness and nuttiness to mitigate any hint of heaviness from both pork and foie gras.
