新加坡炒米粉 (Singaporean Bee Hoon)
Dinner @ "Awanas" (满金香)....a restaurant offering Singaporean/Malaysian food near my place, opened by an owner from Hong Kong, cooked by a Shanghainese chef.
Turmeric + Oil. Not the Singapore Bee Hoon that I know. Maybe a much milder waterdowned version of Bee Hoon Goreng!
The vermicelli did arrive with a good wok aroma but it was weighed down by the heaviness of the turmeric. It was not easy to finish the serving (and it was not a big serving) as the oiliness escalated with each mouthful.
