"Bountiful Harvest of Five Grains"

A vegetarian lunch @ "少林欢喜地", a restaurant right next to the famous Shaolin Temple.

As China becomes richer, there are more rigorous soul-searching for healthier living and it is now the rage, offered in many restaurants, this little humble dish of steamed tubers/roots/nuts/seeds, aptly named "五谷丰登" or loosely translated as "Bountiful Harvest of Five Grains".

Here, I was offered steamed purple sweet potatoes, sweetcorn, potatoes and peanuts. Strangely, both sweet potatoes and potatoes were left quite untouched while I took care of the sweetcorn and my mate polished off the peanuts.
