石河子凉皮 (Spicy Rice Noodles)

Lunch @ "耶里夏丽新疆餐厅".

 

Thick and wide noodles are much favoured in the Western provinces of China.

 

Here, thick and flat rice noodles are flavoured with chilli oil, spices and vinegar and then served with flavoured dried tofu, julienned cucumber and chopped cilantro for a cooling but appetite whetting side dish.

 

Somehow, the noodles were less than robust than I remembered it to be. Tasted a little bland.

Perhaps the chef was a little off on this day?
