Bottled Beverages, Instant Noodle and Canned Kimchi
Self bought "fast food" lunch @ Storyboard Beach Resort on Peleliu Island, run by a Filipino family.
We arrived on the island to a quiet siesta scene. It was a Sunday but 'downtown' was as quiet as a mouse. There was a cafe but it never opened the 3 days I was on the island so I never really knew if it was indeed a cafe!
The sole grocery shop was making brisk business. I was delighted to find it well stocked!
Canned Kimchi from South Korea.
Instant noodles from Taiwan.
Bottled beverages from home - Singapore! (Yeah!)
And my mate picked some wild calamansi limes off trees along the roadside.
This was my first meal on Peleliu!
My main memory of the meal: The canned kimchi tasted "weird" - fruity and watered down. I re-checked and re-checked to make sure it was not expired.
Pokka Honeydew Tea - I never did see this back home so this must be one for export. It tasted neither of honeydew nor tea; a rather weird concoction really.
