蘿蔔板 (Hakka Radish Pancake)
Dinner @ "美濃客家菜".
And the back to something new.
I have never encounter this in Singapore, where there is also a significant Hakka dialect group.
Pancakes flavoured with radishes and then pan-fried.
Me and my mate loved the crispiness of these thin pancakes; probably just a whisker thicker to be called crackers or biscuits.
We asked the owner the origin of the dish and she revealed this was a personal recipe from her own grandmother, something from days gone by and she thought it would made a great rustic, old world classical taste addition to the restaurant's menu.
We agreed.
