鸭肉饭 (Braised Duck Rice)
The version from "鴨肉珍".
This is a shop that carries NO signboard. It is just a space round a corner of shophouses and suddenly propped up a stall with quite a number of tables, spread across 2 lots of space, and at 3pm during our time of visit, half-filled, even though it was nowhere near lunch or dinner!
I guess the stall let the food does the advertising.
First the plus - The gravy was great - soysaucy savoury, caramelised with just a hint of spices.
The duck - the skin and flesh were tender, supple and nicely flavoured.
The cons?
There were little bits of sinewy bits among the pieces of duck and it gets plenty irritating to try to dislodge between teeth. You know what I mean. The little bit that refuses to budge and drives you crazy.
